Save Water - Pee in the Shower - Video

It's a slogan that began in Brazil. Save Water! "Save the Atlantic rainforest! Pee in the Shower!" Suddenly, what all mothers taught their sons and daughters not to do is now chic and considered the right thing to do.

The video below is the work of a Brazilian environmental group, SOS Mata Atlantica, whose goal is to save the Brazilian rainforest. I do not know why saving water will help save the rainforest, but I will take their word for it.

The logic behind taking a leak in the shower is simply a numbers game. One person urinating in the shower instead of the toilet once a day will save about 1,100 gallons of water a year. If every person on the planet joined in, the resultant savings would be over 6.5 trillion gallons of water saved every year.

That is some serious conservation folks.

The following video is in Portuguese so most will not be able to understand it, but the message is that people from all walks of life, from a trapeze artist to a basketball player to even an alien, are all urinating in the shower to save water.

Have a look:

This water saving campaign has legs and may go viral worldwide. Just remember, next time you shower, urinate for mother nature.

Ewww! Conservation or not, that's not going to happen in my house! :P

But, Daisy! It's for the planet! How can you turn your back on the place we live? Besides, the drain from the shower and the toilet connect in your basement and it all ends up in the same place anyway.

I'm not convinced. The two drains may connect somewhere and run together into the same place, but that doesn't mean I have to stand in it!! HA! :)

I'm wondering if Daisy fears there will be a need to start cleaning her shower...which is silly since urine is sterile. Thus peeing in the shower is actually sterilzing it.

And not only that, it saves time so the bathroom turnaround time is shortened.

David--you think I'm afraid I'll have to START cleaning my shower? I already DO clean my shower!--ha ha ha! Don't you clean yours??

It's gets dirty enough without it being used as a toilet!!

You gentlemen can do whatever you wish in your showers. Just don't ask to borrow mine! HA HA HA!

Well, David, I do not think we are going to be able to convince Daisy of the merits of our cause. That means I am going to have to pee twice in my shower to make up for Daisy's extra large carbon footprint.

Hey, that's right! What about Daisy's family? On no! This is going to mess up everything. There goes the 6.5 trillion gallons of water we were going to save. There is always a catch to the perfect plan.
